A Christmas in Ecuador is something that everyone loves once they get down to enjoying it. One of the best ways to take advantage of a great time is to plan on one of the many cruises that are available through the agents. For those coming from cold climates it takes a little getting used to celebrate Christmas in a warm climate. As you travel around the Island you will get to enjoy plants and animals that are native to this country. There are many tours available that have tourist guides to explain all that is going on. There are many major wildlife sites to take a visit to, and in fact many of them are on some of the more remote islands. You will probably be amazed at the some of the really exotic wildlife that you will get to see.

Another exciting adventure is a trip to the black and white sand beaches. When the kids get the chance to snorkel on Christmas day it’s doubtful they will miss the skating and snow.

On Christmas day there is a wonderful parade. The local Indians will dress up in their finest array and mount their llamas and ride them down to where their employers are. Gifts are brought to the nativity and laid at the feet of the baby Jesus. Even the children participate in this event and bring gifts as well and make speeches to the baby Jesus. They will ask for blessing upon themselves as well as their animals. After this event there will be much singing and dancing. This is one of the Christmas celebration fiestas. At this point the Rancher who is the employee will give gifts to his employees. The food will be scrumptious servings of roast lamb, baked potatoes topped with brown sugar bread. There is no shortage of food at this celebration. These are just a few of the wonderful Christmas festivities that you and your family can take advantage of during your Christmas vacation. It is a wonderful experience to learn how Christmas is celebrated in other countries.
